Educators don't need another course. They need preparation.
NextGround is an early-stage company building role-specific preparation for educators moving into their next role — within education, alongside it, or beyond it.
Career mobility in education is unstructured
There is a well-defined route into teaching and almost nothing defining the routes out of the classroom or up within it. Educators improvise, and most improvise alone.
The demand is preparation, not content
Educators don't lack access to courses. They lack a way to understand a specific role, practice its decisions, and prove readiness before an opening exists.
Role-specific paths, one at a time
Each path is narrow by design: one destination, one practitioner who holds the role, one small cohort. Depth is the product.
What educators told us.
From our Educator Career Growth & Mobility Survey, an early research study of 38 educators. These findings describe the educators we spoke with and are not a nationally representative sample.
- Nearly 3 in 4 said they had decided not to apply for a role or opportunity because they did not feel prepared.
- Nearly 9 in 10 said they had taken on responsibilities in their current job specifically to prepare for a future role.
- More than 4 in 5 rated the ability to practice skills for their next role, before actually getting that role, as highly valuable.
