Translating teaching experience without inflating it
Teaching builds real professional skill. The problem is that school language doesn't travel. Translation is about naming the same work in terms the receiving role recognizes.

Lead with the decision, not the setting
"Ran small groups" becomes "used weekly assessment data to regroup 90 students and adjusted instruction every two weeks." Same work, visible judgment.
Name the adults
Mentoring a student teacher, running a PLC, or coaching a colleague is adult development experience. Most educators leave it off because it wasn't in their title.
Keep the number honest
Use counts you can defend: students taught, teachers supported, meetings facilitated, budget touched. Inflated numbers fall apart in the second interview.
